It has a fantastic light spread and is not a "spot" light, which means it is fantastic on the handlebars. I use it for mountain bike riding and it has no issues lighting up the trail. I put the volt 700 on my helmet and the combination of the two means you can ride with total confidence on any trail out there. I love the all in one design, but you do have to "manage" the battery if you need light for more than 1.5 hours. Here is what I have found as far a runtime goes on the highest setting. It will turn red at about an hour. At 1.5 hours it will start to dim down to save battery. At just under two hours it will shutdown completely. So I keep it on medium unless going down a steep hill or riding at high speeds on the trail.
